The SCC Softball team is "playing well", according to Head Coach Dustin Wengert. The Cougars are currently sitting at 22-9 on the year and off to the best start in school history. The team has a new face leading the way each day, "I think that what makes us so tough night now, everyone is performing and performing in thier own way. We haven't had to rely on just one or two people, this group gets it, they play for each other." The team is coming off back-to-back series sweeps, against regional opponents State Fair and Metro (KC), and currently sit at 5-3 in Region XVI play. "We are staying humble, we are continuing to just work on some things that hopefully contiue to propel us in the rigth direction", speaks Wengert. The team is on a heavy strecth of Region games and it will only get tougher. The Cougars will be back in action at home, weather permitting, this Sunday against North Central Missouri College, games times are slated for 1 and 3pm.
