Cougars Softball Defeats State Fair in Doubleheader

The SCC Cougars hosted State Fair Community College this week on Tuesday, March 31st, for a doubleheader. Right from the start, the Lady Cougars proved their strength as a team. The Cougars swept, winning game one 13-4 and game two 8-0. 

In game one, Lorelei Johnson, Maddy Seifert, and Nevaeh Carter tied for the lead in hits with three. Maddy Seifert had four RBIs, followed by Alayna Johnson with three. Ayla Smith pitched the game for the Cougars. She faced 24 batters, allowing only 6 hits.  

The Cougars shut out State Fair, winning 8-0. Bryten Kendrick pitched a strong game, only allowing two hits and striking out six. Hannah Cantrell led the batters with three hits in four at-bats.  

The team is now 19-9 for the season. Next up, the women will face Three Rivers on April 7th.
