Softball Weekend Results

Softball had a busy weekend, playing doubleheaders on Saturday and Sunday, both at home.

On Saturday, the Cougars had a conference game against Crowder College. Game one was back-and-forth and came down to the wire. Crowder and SCC took turns with the lead until Maddy Seifert hit a grand slam home run in the bottom of the seventh inning for a walk-off win, 9-8.

After the first win, the Cougars took the lead right from the start in game two, winning 8-1. Maddy Seifert was three for three at the plate, and Reese Elliott hit two for two. Maci Knowles pitched all of game two, striking out eight batters.

The Moberly Area Community College (MACC) Greyhounds arrived on Sunday for the second doubleheader of the weekend. In game one, Hannah Cantrell led in hits with three, and Maddy Siefert led in RBIs with four. The women won the game 13-6.

The final game of the weekend was another back-and-forth game that went into extra innings. The Cougars held the lead until the bottom of the seventh when MACC scored on a sacrifice fly to tie the game. The game went on to ten innings until MACC managed to score the winning run.

The Cougars are back in action tomorrow, March 31st, at home against State Fair Community College.
