SCC Track & Field Sets Multiple School Records, 14 Qualify for NJCAA Nationals 

St. Charles Community College Track & Field opened its outdoor season at the Central Methodist University Open with a strong and well-rounded performance across both the men's and women's programs. The Cougars recorded multiple national qualifying marks, top finishes, and several school records, highlighting continued progress toward NJCAA championship-level competition.

 

Top Performances and Placements

The Cougars were led by a runner-up finish in the men's long jump, where sophomore Matthew Hoeft placed second overall with a mark of 6.89 meters (22-7.25). Hoeft's performance moves him within 0.16 meters of his own school record of 7.05 meters.

In the men's 110-meter hurdles, sophomore Xander Dewitt placed third overall in 15.26, which ranks as the second-fastest time in school history.

The men's 4x100 relay team placed fourth in 43.40, while the 4x400 relay team finished fifth in 3:36.90.

In the men's javelin, freshman Natinael Collins placed sixth with a throw of 42.18 meters, breaking the previous school record of 33.20 meters set by Ryan Medley (2022). Freshman Domonic Clayton followed with a ninth-place finish at 39.35 meters, moving into second all-time in program history.

 

Additional performances included:

• Gavin Wicklund – 8th place, 400 meters (53.93)

• Brayden Cahoon – 7th place, 400-meter hurdles (1:00.02)

• Charles Davis – 8th place, 110-meter hurdles (15.98)

 

School Record Performances

St. Charles Community College recorded multiple school records across both the men's and women's programs:

Men's Pole Vault

Oliver Rothweiler cleared 4.50 meters (14-9), breaking the previous record of 3.93 meters set by Sergio Darabcsek (2024).

Men's Javelin

Natinael Collins set a new record with a throw of 42.18 meters, surpassing the previous mark of 33.20 meters set by Ryan Medley (2022).

Men's 4x 400m set a new school record of 3:36.90.

Women's Long Jump

Alissa White set a new school record with a mark of 5.07 meters (16-7.75), surpassing the previous record of 5.00 meters held by Robyn Moore (2022).

Women's Triple Jump

Isabella Pritchett recorded a mark of 10.44 meters (34-3.00), breaking the previous record of 10.32 meters held by Robyn Moore (2022).

 

Women's Highlights

The women's program delivered one of the strongest performances of the meet, highlighted by record-breaking efforts in the horizontal jumps.

Alissa White placed fourth overall in the long jump with her record mark of 5.07 meters. Isabella Pritchett added depth in the triple jump with a mark of 10.44 meters, while White also competed in the event with a jump of 10.04 meters.

In the javelin, Carmella Noah-Avalos led SCC with a throw of 22.29 meters, followed closely by Audra Smith, who recorded a mark of 22.01 meters.

"This was a strong opening meet for both our men's and women's teams. We are seeing growth across every event group, and our athletes are beginning to compete at a high level. Breaking multiple school records this early shows the direction we are heading as a program. As we prepare for our next meet at Saint Louis University on March 28, our goal is to qualify more athletes for nationals. We have a talented group, and we want to keep the momentum going."
